Excellent mixed spice
I received this free to review. I get what others mean by saying it is just mixed spice. But I think t is an excellent mix that I could not have come up on my own. Also I don’t have some of these spices in my cupboard so it works for me. I have put it in my basket to buy this time.
It's just a spice mix
I was sent this free for an honest review and honestly I don't really see the point of this product. You can pull together some fresh spices for a fraction of the price to make your own chilli, be it vegan or animal based. It's not a bad mix, but I'd rather make my own chilli from scratch.
OK
This is nice enough but you can get a packet of chilli spice mix for about 80p which tastes pretty much the same. I got sent this to review and thought it was going to be a bit more than a sachet of spice mix, but no, that's all it is, with extra packaging to make it look like more.
Chilli kick
Given this to review (thanks Ocado!). Easy to follow recipe on the packet that makes a tasty veggie chilli with a good consistency and level of heat. Makes 4-5 portions. Great to have in the cupboard as a back up, but I would probably use my own spices when making chilli
Good taste
Has good taste for a vegan chilli. You are not looking for original favours with this product.
Something lacking
I quite regularly use chilli spice mixes and was sent this for review. I didn't like it at all. If I can describe it, it didn't seem to have the richness and depth of spice needed, and it had a weird shiny congealed thing going on (cornflour is listed in the ingredients) that was not welcome.
