What It\x27s Used For
The reviews for this are particularly bad, and I think it's because people are using it on its own. It's typically used in Jamaica as a stock for homemade soup, along with a packet of the pumpkin soup if you are using pumpkin in your soup ingredients. You would cook up your seasoned chicken, add carrots, onions, thyme, scotch bonnet, pimento, green onions, potatoes (Irish or sweet), yam, plaintain, corn on the cob cut into one inch slices, pumpkin and so on, and then add water, and this chicken soup (typically sieved in order to remove the noodles), and then cook slowly over a low heat. When used this way, it's a five star product, churning out Saturday soup in its finest - though I accept it's all in the cook's touch! On it's own it's a typical noodle soup.
No sign of any chicken!
Tasted of stock powder, very salty and too many noodles. No sign of any chicken at all. Would not buy again.
needs less water
Made as per instructions it would be very bland. Only used 2/3 water suggested and therefore actually tasted of chicken noodle soup.
Salty water
Quite how anyone could taste chicken in this I don't know. I borders between bland and unpleasant
very little flavour
I think it would be nicer to use a stock cube with a few noodles thrown in!
