Product information

Fruit was selected from our Estate, where sustainable vineyard practices are followed. The calcium-rich clay and limestone within the vineyard soil imparts a distinctive minerality and concentration to our wines. Low intervention and traditional techniques in the winery preserve single vineyard 'charm'. We endeavour to offer unique wines that enhance typical Marlborough characteristics with complexity and finesse.

History
Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. In 1980 pilot Mike Tiller discovered a precious pocket of land and he and his wife Robyn built a winery on the site and named it in honour of Mike's mother, Isabel. Throughout the 1980s the couple planted key noble varietals and began to deliver fruit of exceptional quality, in high demand from premium and internationally renowned wine producers.

The Marlborough region has a maritime climate. The cooling influence of the nearby ocean contributes to the great acidity and freshness that we know and love in wines from this region. The region also benefits from plentiful sunshine to assist grape ripening.

Vinification Details
All harvesting was conducted in the cool of the early morning to retain freshness and purity. Each block was picked and fermented separately to allow for a range of yeast strains to be used, giving greater options at blending. A small portion was fermented naturally in French oak barrels to help build texture and body. The wine was left on fine lees for a number of months after fermentation to develop richness and depth of flavour.

I loved this

Got this for review. Havent tried Pinot Gris before and was blown away by this fresh well balanced wine, really enjoyed it by itself and with some simple grilled meats. My husband who prefers red was less impressed but Im going to veto his opinion this time!! 5* from me, think it would go very well at summer bbqs

Wow, a very special Pinot Noir

Love this New Zealand Pinot Gris from the Isabel Estate. It’s balanced and nicely complex. Pear, nectarine, maybe even a hint of grapefruit at the end. A little touch of that lovely minerality from the Isabel Estate soil. Not as floral as Italian Pinot gris I’ve had. Not too sweet either despite the pear notes. Definitely recommend it. It’s also a good price here (on offer at £15) compared to other places at the moment. Goes beautifully with antipasti meats and spicy dishes.

refreshing not too sweet

I was given this for review. I love the citrus fruity tasting note. Great to pair with seafood. I serve this with oysters . Its beautiful. Definitely will purchase again.

Fresh, Fruity and Full\-bodied

I'm reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. This is a very nice pinot gris. It is a lovely light golden colour in the glass. It tastes fresh on the palate. Very fruity - it tastes of pear - and full-bodied. Not too dry, not too sweet - just right. Highly recommended.

I was given this to review I'm not a wine drinker however I found this to be very pleasant.I served this with a prawn salad it was fresh and lemony and overall I'm impressed by their whole range.
