Brand
Our aim is to make wines of elegance and finesse that show vineyard expression with minimal winemaking intervention. The fruit was harvested from the Homestead vineyard, whole bunch pressed then fermented in French oak barriques using indigenous yeasts before aging on lees for ten months prior to bottling.
Since planting our first Chardonnay vineyards three decades ago, time, tide and fortune have smiled on Jackson Estate, and the unparalleled affinity between Marlborough and Chardonnay has been spectacularly realised.
The acclaim Jackson Estate Chardonnay generates is based entirely on the merit of our pristine, cool climate vineyards. This single vineyard wine is named for the belt of gum trees that encircle the Jackson Estate Homestead, providing shelter for the fruit trees and the BBQ.
We trust you enjoy this wine as much as we did making it.

Very enjoyable
We don't normally drink chardonnay but ordered one as I thought it might go well with a Chinese New Year celebration meal. Received this as a substitute for the one I actually ordered. We really enjoyed it, it was fruity slightly oaky and not at all acidic. A pleasant surprise compared to the brash chardonnay so often experienced. We are converted.
Great wine
Full of aroma and taste better than those more expensive brands. Would make a great gift.
Ordered Sauv blanc and received two chardonnays
I unscrewed the bottle without looking at the label and thought no way does this taste like Sauvignon Blanc, it tastes like Chardonnay and it's oaked, which I don't like in white wines. Lo and behold, when I checked the label, someone had put Chardonnay into my order. Clearly, this is good Chardonnay for people who like oaked Chardonnay. I don't. Good wine, but not for me,
Wonderful wine
With the popularity of exaggerated, 'buttery', diacetyl-dominated Chardonnay (often to the point of tasting quite 'chemically' to me), I've been firmly in the "Anything but Chardonnay" camp for a long time, especially when buying from supermarkets. This wine, however, is fantastic. It has the distinctive bright, fruit clarity of the best NZ wines, with great length of flavour and none of that cloying character. It will happily compliment food from delicate fish dishes to more intense, spicy Asian dishes. The other Jackson Estate wines at Ocado have all similarly impressed me. Even if you think you dislike Chardonnay, give this one a try; it may be that you just dislike Chardonnays that employ warm malolactic fermentations to increase the 'butteryness'. In the past, I'd been unfairly blaming the grape instead of the winemaker!
One of the best Chardonnays
Fresh, fruity Chardonnay, more like a French Chablis with more fruit. A new favourite, especially on offer!
Good Chardonnay
This is very decent chardonnay and worth the price. Not acidic and easy to drink
