Danish stable
As a Dane living in UK, this is a stable in my shopping basket. Great with chips and on rye bread with salami or roast beef.
now really cabbage-y
Ive enjoyed this brand for years but havent bought it in a while. I decided to buy it to accompany hotdogs with crispy onions, the Danish way. But I now find the recipe is really heavy on the cabbage and lacking much other flavour. So you have a sweet cabbage sauce that repeats on you and doesnt bring much to the dish. Im not sure I will but again. I will need to find a good recipe to make my own.
Just like what I had in Copenhagen
Never knew the name of the sauce but would always have it on hot dogs whenever we were in CPH and havent been able to find it anywhere. Its sweet creamy and pickley if you wanted a description. Main thing its yum.
Hooray for remoulade
This is high on the list of what Danish people abroad miss, and most of my UK friends are converts. Normally, I would make this by blending mayo and piccalilli, but obvs nice to be able to buy readymade. It goes beautifully with breaded fish, fish cakes, chips/fries and roastbeef. Some people use it for hot dogs as well. Point off because this particular brand is more mayonnaise-y and less coarse than I prefer. But beggars cant be choosers and it still fab!
The classic Danish condiment
The real thing from Denmark. Its basically like mayo mixed with pickled cabbage, cauliflower and mild spices, but trust me its much better than it sounds! Amazing in a fish finger sandwich but I also love it with pizza. If you havent tried it, you should.
Take it or leave it
Bought off the back of positive reviews as I love to try new condiments. Used in my warm roast beef sandwich last weekend and as crust dipper for Neapolitan pizza. Didn’t overwhelm me on either dish. Thought it might go well in an egg sandwich. Doubt I’ll be back for more.
