Lovely chewy jerky!
If you like honey roast ham, this is a good choice for you! A very slightly sweet and chewy jerky, this is a bit healthier than most bacon jerkies which tend to either be like chewing leather or too heavy on the fat. This is a nice medium, and I recommend it-- It' s my new favourite jerky! :)
Recipe change: Gammon
I used to really like this it was made with bacon and was quite fatty and not like traditional jerky at all but delicious as a treat. They've since (and I've clarified this by emailing the manufacturers) changed production to use gammon instead and it tastes like it. Bacon and gammon have very different flavours and it should be called gammon jerky now. I probably wouldn't hate it so much if it wasn't a reminder of what I'm missing since they've stopped producing the old version but it's rubbish in comparison. It's not particularly fatty anymore if that put you off before but it doesn't have that delicious, unique bacon flavour plus it's not tender, succulent and chewy but almost melt in the mouth anymore. It's just dry gammon now. Might be better nutritionally but it's basic and boring now.

why is it sweet?!
I have been eating freshly cooked and refrigerated bacon and thought this would be easier to have it basically already done for me. I was wrong! Its not until you buy it you see it says the only flavour is paprika. Now we all know that has hardly any flavour so still didnt think it would be an issue. What IS a issue is the fact that these are sweet almost like honey glazed ham or similar except its not honey its straight up sugar! Comes in tiny little chunks and after the first I was done! Totally not what I was expecting and I got two packs also so what a waste!!! Might try to return it.
