Best Mushy Peas ever!
Soaked overnight with the Bicarbonate tablet that was enclosed. rinsed next day twice in cold water. Put into a pan without the net that was provided. (never cooked peas in a net before) covered with 1.1/2 litre of Cold water brought to the boil simmered for 60 mins. added 1 tsp sugar stirred, added butter and vinegar. Yummy. I will never buy tinned mushy peas again. These are the best soft peas. Next to make pea & gammon soup.
Plastic Packaging?
As other reviewers have noted the packaging has been changed from cardboard. Won't be buying these again.
Like bullets
Soaked these as per instructions and cooked overnight in slow cooker as soup.16 hours later still like bullets
NO soaking tablet or net
Why say its in there if it isnt - ridiculous! Also packed in plastic rather than card! Peas not as good as other brands either!
Why has the packaging changed?
I bought these previously because of the cardboard packaging, but for some reason they have now swapped to plastic. I won't be buying this again for that reason.
Great peas
My husband is a great lover of mushy peas and rates these fairly high. We have been buying these for years but since they have started to be sold in a bag rather than a box I have found there is no soaking tablet in there which is a right pain. Leo please get your act together, you change your packaging to a non recyclable bag and leave out the tablet, I am hoping this in an unfortunate coincidence but this is the 3rd time this has happened.Great peas though which I have perfected over the years.
