The essential oils of star anise are extracted by steam distilling and macerated in alcohol to give Luxardo Sambuca dei Cesari a rich, smooth flavour.
Luxardo Sambuca can be enjoyed on its own or complemented as a layered shotail® with a cream liqueur. Try as a long drink by adding lemonade and a dash of blackcurrant cordial.

Smooth Sambuca
I'm reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. This is a really smooth Sambuca that belies its 38% proof alcohol (by volume). Wonderful with diet lemonade. Will definitely be buying this again. 50cl does not last very long !
quite strong
Got this from ocado to review. Its interesting but I dont know if Id have gotten it myself. For quite specific drinks I think.
strong, fragrant, I like it
I was given this by Ocado to review. First time trying Sambuca so don't know what to expect, wow mama Mia it smells nice and tastes nice! Like any vermouth, you either love it or hate it, and I like the sweetness and anise flavour. Nice with soda, lemonade or tonic water.
lovely stuff
Received this to review and was over the moon as sambuca is normally a treat. Straight into a mug of black coffee with squirty cream over the top. I enjoy the strong flavour of this and it's not a sickly sweet as the cheaper brands. Can I have another freebie please Ocado?
