Admittedly I bought this thinking I could make a kind of Aviation cocktail with it, or at least enjoy it if not, as the first review said it was good. I should have bought the Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur from another site.. put it that way. I'm sure I'll find a way to enjoy it. If you like bitterness (it is branded "Sour Cherry Gin" after all) and are a bit of a mixologist, why not? It's Italian. And good stuff by all accounts on the specialist sites. It's a bit too juniper for me... but I think might be good for a Negroni.. So don't let me put you off..
Italian drink for grownups and mixologists
I was worried this might be sweet, or overwhelmingly cherry. It is neither. If you like Italian herbal spirits then this might be right up your street. As there isnt a right way to serve it, its a good one to play with. Its not a G&T gin, but we tried it anyway, and it was lovely. They suggest neat on the rocks, which sounds good, and I imagine it would be nice with soda, or over sorbet, and definitely would be good for more ambitious cocktails.
