monkfish chunks
Full of membrane and bone! M & S customer service will not acknowledge without receipt even though I gave obviously their packaging. purchased from M & S Store and they will not refund as I dont have receipt.
Enjoyed...
Cooked in a homemade white wine, cream and truffle sauce...delicious!
Perfect for fish skewers
I found these pieces very good. Only a tiny amount of membrane, easily removed. The pieces were a good and mostly uniform size. I made two skewers with yellow pepper and red onion, barbecued and served with wild rice. Delicious!
Membrane attached
The fish is fine, but the membrane is still attached. Given that the fish is cut into chunks and frozen, removing it yourself is very difficult. If you leave it on, the fish curls up when cooked and many eaters will reject it. Shame.
Poor
The product had been cut into chunks without firstly removing the membrane that is found on Monkfish. To remove it whilst it was in chunks was a real pain and took ages!
First time trying Monkfish
I dont think Id but again, it was a bit rubbery, lots had membrane attached so curled up in the pan, if I was to try, I think theyd need marinating? Not outstanding taste, may be better steamed or cooked slower.
