Rioja, Spain's most famous red wine region, is situated in the north, along River Ebro valley and protected by the Sierra Cantabria mountain range. Winemaker César Fernández sources the finest Tempranillo grapes from the 3 areas of Rioja, Alavesia, Alta and Oriental to make this ageworthy Reserva. Using finely seasoned America oak barrels he ages the wines for 24 months and then a further year in bottle to produce this complex yet mellow red.

Not the best
Was expecting more for the price, but it lacked body and tasted almost like it was cut with spirits it had that sharpness and bite to it
Billy Basic Rioja
Run of the mill Rioja. Not worth £12 in my eyes
Rough
Bought this on the strength of other reviews but was hugely disappointed. It wasn't corked, we let it breathe at room temp but still tasted rough. We forced ourselves to finish it rather than throw it away only because it wasn't cheap. Unfortunately, we bought a second bottle so this has been tagged for mulled wine. Shame as Ocado doesn't seem to have any good reds since dropping the good Waitrose ones.
Best Rioja I've Ever Drank
Outstanding wine. Deep, smooth, layers of flavour. It's a favourite in our house for sure.
Smooth and delicious Rioja
Bought when reduced in price, was a bargain given the quality. Fairly full bodied yet no harsh tannins, good by itself or with food, Highly recommended, well above average,
Dissapointing
I have tried lots of riojas, and this one was almost unpleasant. Seemed to miss the smoothness that other riojas have.
