Message for the ignorant moaners
The reason olive oil is getting so expensive (apart from the ridiculously ineffectual sanctions put on Russia) is due to drought that wrecked much of the olive harvest. This was followed by torrential rain, which trashed yet more of the crop & then disease set in. So, nobody is laughing at your expense, nobody is ripping you off and whilst you think you're suffering due to the price increase, there are olive farmers whose families have been growing olives for generations that are losing everything they worked for, their entire livelihood. You think it's expensive now, you ain't seen nothing yet.
It would be useful to know is this a GLASS bottle?
Please M& S don't just describe the packaging as 'bottle'! ?Glass bottle or plastic bottle? When corrected, I'm sure the product will be 5* for best value too
Ocado has increased price again!
Tesco sells their Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1L for £8.40 same quality as M&S version. Ocado sales and marketing team have decided to increase again! Tired of ocado doing this every few months! Going to shop elsewhere from now on for extra virgin olive oil (sainsburys/tesco for olive oil ) as other supermarkets offer same quality & better value!
weird cloudy bits
not only is the price skyrocketing, my latest bottle has lots of fuzzy-looking residue at the bottom (not from cold) that looks a bit nasty. i used to like this but ill look for alternatives next time
It has a pouring sprout!
And its cheaper than La Espanola when its not on offer.
