Pleasant but
Had a very peculiar smell that was very off putting!
Lovely light, sunny sparkler
What a lovely surprise! This is only just off dry (I dislike sweeter proseccos) and has lovely, peachy, floral flavour. This would be perfect to have sat in the garden with the sun out!
No such thing as dry Asti?!
Like the previous reviewer I was duped by the prospect of a dry Asti. Alas no, this was exactly as I remember the Asti Spumante I used to drink as a teenager. Its too sweet for my taste. Nice bubbles but I think this is sweeter than most Prosecco. I confess I also poured this down the sink.
Overwhelmingly awful
I had great hopes for this - a light sparkling Italian wine bought on the strength that it was not sweet as traditional Asti Spumante can be. Well, I took one sip and nearly retched - it tasted overwhelmingly of… Elastoplast… I thought that it must have been due to something I might have eaten earlier, so I munched on a little salty thin biscuit as a palate cleanser but no, still the overwhelming Elastoplast taste. Not one to give up easily, I took a further 3 or 4 sips and then… down the plughole the entire thing went. What a waste.
Surprised ….
…. and delighted. Bought it for drinking with pancakes on pancake night but was really delighted with it. It’s a very highly sophisticated asti for those that might not normally choose one. It would be a great summer garden wine but we will be buying some for breakfast mimosas ie perfect with fresh orange juice with a full English Sunday brekkie.
Great
Highly recommend. I need to order more.
