M&S Giant Wholewheat Couscous
This fluffy and nutty wholewheat couscous is delicious in salads, with roasted vegetables or served with tagines. Boil over the hob for six to eight minutes, drain and use as required. Provides a source of fibre and protein.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place. To ensure freshness, peel off sticker and use to reseal pack after opening.
Instructions
Boil - From Ambient. Rinse 100g couscous thoroughly in cold water. Bring 500ml water or stock to the boil in a large saucepan on the medium hob over a high heat, add the couscous. Stir, cover with a lid, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 6-8 mins, until the couscous has softened but is slightly firm to the bite. Drain thoroughly, rinse and use as required.

Moroccan Lamb and Giant Couscous

Ingredients
3 tbsp M&S olive oil
2 tbsp M&S Cook with Moroccan paste
4 M&S lamb loin chops
350g diced butternut squash
1 red onion, rough chopped
200g M&S giant wholewheat couscous
500ml vegetable stock
60g M&S pitted dates, chopped
50g M&S raisins
1x 400g M&S can of chickpeas, drained
1/2 tsp M&S ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
20g M&S flaked almonds
1 tbsp parsley, chopped
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/fan 200°C/gas mark 7. Brush both side of lamb chops with 1 tbsp of the oil and coat with Moroccan paste.
2. Use 1 tbsp of oil to coat the diced squash and bake in the centre of the preheated oven for 25-30 mins.
3. Warm the remaining oil, add the onion and cook for 3-5 mins, then add the couscous and cook for 5 mins, stirring continuously.
4. Add the stock, dates, raisins, chickpeas, cinnamon and salt. Bring to boil and then reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 13 mins or until couscous is tender. Meanwhile grill the lamb for 3-4 mins on each side.
5. Once couscous is cooked stir in the butternut squash, almonds and parsley.
To Serve: with warm flatbreads.

so unlike other giant couscous
Dissapointed in this. It had that stale bran odour others have mentioned. I abandoned it for salad. I did find one use for it, put into a tomato sauce it makes a passable vegan mince substitute. Taste disguised!

Not sure why this gets so many bad reviews. I suspect they are from people who cant cook very well!

Great for salads
I used this to make a big salad and thought it worked really well- no stale taste like the comments below. I did find I needed to cook it a little longer than the pack said.
