Decent sized & tasty
only fault was some hadn't been fully shelled.
Meh
They look beautiful and juicy when you take them out of the packet, same when defrosted. Then you add them to your sautéed soffritto and they shrink by half within second and become all dry, living a soggy juice in the pan. We still ate them, with jollof rice, but we won’t buy again
Fishy smell
As soon as I opened the packet the smell of fish was overpowering didn't improve in my stir fry so chucked it away hopefully I won't be ill!!!
These were tiny!
I'm not sure why the contents are labelled as large as these were the smallest frozen prawns I've ever ordered on OCADO. The quality is fine but not suitable if making a dish where prawns are the main feature.
Best cooked prawns
They are expensive but the best you can get and so juicy and delicious, once youve had these you wont want to go back to others that are smaller, and less tasty
Good option
it's important to note that these are not comparable to King prawns and the other varieties coming to us after they have been farmed in very questionable waters full of antibiotics and poo. These are clean, cold water, already cooked prawns that one should add to a dish only at the very end of the cooking process. I only throw them in at the last minute so they can get sufficiently warm. Anything more will reduce them to tiny shrimp sized thingies and alter their texture. For me they are the best quality one can find for a frozen prawn.
