Tasty but....

...despite the picture there was only one in the packet I received, which was annoying as I needed two for a recipe.

Love them.

So glad to add something a bit more interesting than soft green lettuce to my salads, and chicory adds a nice depth in terms of flavour. Not too bitter, plenty crisp and keep nicely in the fridge.

Deliciously bitter but sweet

I use these for Endives Flamandes. Chicory braised for 10 minutes, wrapped in Unearthed Torchon Ham, covered in béchamel, with a generous layer of Emmental (or Gruyere). Baked until golden. Perfect combination of bitter, sweet and nutty flavours.

Always fresh, crisp and tasty. They are smaller than the white chicory but sweeter and tastier
