Way too much salt
A few empty shells, but the real problem for me was that there was way too much salt. I love salt - I used to eat salt by itself - and these were too salty for me. It was unpleasant, it killed the natural sweetness of the pistachios.
Disappointing
Lots of empty shells - and no the kernels hadnt fallen out in the packet as I checked. Not particularly good nuts. As per title of my review - disappointing.
Too many empty shells
You expect a few unopened shells but Ive never come across empty shells before. You crack the nut open and theres nothing there. In a handful, theres several like this. Some of the shells that contain nuts are not good quality - shrivelled and fusty tasting. Another example of falling standards at M&S.
Not good
These pistachios are one of the worst ones on the current market. They are not roasted properly, and the majority of them in a package are burnt.
Avoid
I was sent these as a substitute for Wonderful pistachios. I was also anoid to be charged the higher price. They tasted old, stale with many bad kernels and it seemed that half the bad were just empty shells. Nowhere near as good as Wonderful which were fresh and crisp.
Great quality
These are great. Good quality size and very tasty.
