Horrible
These are usually delicious grapes, but unfortunately the last 2 weeks they have come from India & have been inedible.
stop with the Indian grapes
For weeks weve been receiving grapes from India and theyre horrid. I would rather grapes were out of stock than be sent these. Another item added to my in person shopping list where I will most definitely be only buying grapes when theyre from somewhere else.
What has changed?
These, up until recently, were the best grapes. Fat, crispy and deliciously sweet. The last 2 packs have tasted tainted and have gone off very quickly.
Soft brown grapes from India
I would have given these a lower score except M&S grapes are usually quite good. This batch was already turning brown and tasted off. I threw them in the food bin and got replacement from my local supermarket, making sure not to pick the batch from India. For some reason grapes from India have been consistently poor quality - they tend to be soft/brown, often with black dots. I buy grapes weekly. My comment is not only based on the batch I received this week, but also my experience over the past couple of years.
Indian Grapes
The large supermarkets need to ensure they are performing adequate quality checks on the produce they import. I bought these last week and they were from India. Half the punnet were brown and unusable on day one. The rest were shrivelled up as if they had been frozen and defrosted. I have since had a look at some other green grapes in other supermarkets and again the ones from India are brown and dried up. This is just not okay. What worse is that is not the usual standard for these grapes or M&S fruit. I ordered them the week prior and receive produce from South Africa and they were amazing. Heres to hoping they switch suppliers again soon.
soft grapes
Usually the grapes are fine from South Africa, but last week they were from India and they were already brown and soft they went in the bin. The staff should not pick these grapes when they are going off.
