red wine pie
A complete waste of money I rarely leave food on my plate but left 75% of the pie. Pastry was sloppy and gooey, the little amount of meat in the pie was fatty and tasteless
youve got to laugh
I love that someone has given this product one star based upon not trying it but reading one other persons review honestly youve got to laugh I believe the majority of people have given this product a good review but this person selected to heed the advise of the minority.. no wonder the country is in such a mess it was like seeing one star reviews on Goodreads before a book is even published just because your neighbour read a book by that author 10 years ago and didnt like it. Thank you made my day
Very poor
Tasty, but mostly pastry and barely enough for two never mind four
Mulled wine tasting gravy? :-/
Ive been meaning to buy this frozen pie but kept forgetting about it so thought Id read the reviews in full first now Im here. Its fortunate I did because the gravy has been described as sweet boiled mulberry wine, if Ive got that right. Sounds ghastly. So its a no before I try! Reading pie is terrible to lift out from foil base once baked so I suggest lifting it out of foil case beforehand and place it on a piece of non stick foil. You might want to rub a small knob of proper butter around the foil if youre worried itll stick. Glaze top as usual if thats your preference and bake. I found this method works for me from experience with both frozen and non frozen pies.
Tasty but not enough for 4
This pie is tasty. There wasn’t enough meat but what was there was tender and there was a lot of onion, bordering on too much. The gravy was very rich, could be too rich for some, but we enjoyed it. The pastry was crisp after cooking and it wasn’t too thick. It’s handy to have in the freezer and I would buy again but it serves 3 max.
Nice but could use more beef
An enjoyable pie - although admittedly served two of us (plus roasted veg) rather than four as advertised! Nice flavour and lots of veg, but could have used more, and bigger, pieces of beef. Will likely buy again
