cheap tasting..
Way overpriced swiss roll. And it tastes cheap, almost synthetic.. ugh! The clotted cream written in capitals is very misleading!

Okay i was in a hurry to place order. But it says IN LARGE LETTERS, Strawberry & Clotted cream sponge roll. Only in small letters underneath does it mention buttercream. And on the side of the box no mention of butter cream but large mention of clotted cream. So I was expecting a fresh cream roll. Was I disappointed. Okay my mistake. But even so the roll was hard and stodgy and very unpalatable.

Awful, far too sweet to eat it.
WORST cake I have ever tasted.
I never leave reviews of food products - I am not sure who has time to do so but I don't. However, this cake takes the biscuit - and I wish it took the cake! All jokes aside it is like eating one big spoonful of sugar. I can even feel the sugar grains crunch as I chewed. It was truly revolting. No taste (except sweetness) and no texture either, just paste, goop, gunk, foam - and sugar. Good grief, Marks and Spencer - you're one of the last bastions of decent supermarket food in the UK - PLEASE - do better than this.

Lovely cake roll, jam is gorgeous with plenty of clotted cream, just great and very moreish.

Lovely soft sponge with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Kids really like it! Much better compared to other brands we’ve tried. But of course everyone got different tastes…so if you don’t like something very soft and clotted cream than it’s probably something you wouldn’t like.
