great
Really Like these. Good texture, tasty and lovely way to get some extra grains.
Not too light, nor too dense
A bit surprised at some of the other reviews as I found these crumpets had a really nice structure and flavour, far nicer than some other doughy/rubbery crumpets. Mind you, I do like my crumpets well toasted so maybe this suits them.
Go basic, go sourdough, not these
I like crumpets. Rediscovered the joy of them recently. And now there are an array of them – sourdough, five grain – not just the simple yummy ones of childhood. So, when I saw these M&S ULTIMATE five-grain crumpets, I thought, gosh, how exciting! How brilliant ... Not. Really, really not. Eating them was an unpleasant experience, bits of what felt like paper left trapped between my teeth. There's also a strange, lingering aftertaste. And they didn't have that aeration that makes eating crumpets usually so wonderful. So, wouldn't recommend. And, to rub salt into the wound, they're expensive! Go basic or buy a sourdough version from Sainsburys or Waitrose, both delicious, nutritious AND cheaper!
2 packet in the bin
I usually keep these in the freezer for food emergencies this time though they were doughy, stodgy and just horrible. Frozen end of December and eaten (or at least a attempted to eat ) early March. This batch just nasty.
too sugary and wet mushy inside
I would prefer a firm texture and less sweet They seem to have been made with a texture of oat flour or gluten free type produce
nice
Nice, nutty flavour, I assume with multigrain also makes them healthier? Though they are expensive and a bit high in salt and sugar?
