Preparation and Usage

Simple to prepare
Squeeze the pouch to loosen the grains.
For best results, heat through in a pan with a dash of water. Otherwise, tear a 2cm opening at the top and microwave for 45s at 900w, or simply enjoy them cold.

For a quick and simple plant-based burrito bowl, load up the Mexican-Style Grains with refried beans, sweetcorn, chopped red pepper and beetroot. Serve with fresh guacamole and enjoy!

yummy

This is full of flavour and not soggy at all. I added a little bit more chilli and thoroughly enjoyed it with some grilled chicken and yoghurt.

Convenient

These ready-to-microwave packs are so convenient and an easy way to create and quick and nutritious meal in a couple of minutes. I like this flavour with the addition of some prawns, or on its own as a tasty side dish.

Full of flavour

Merchant Gourmet create some really flavoursome rice/grains pouches and this one is no exception. Full of flavour and so easy to make a great meal with. I served this with some stir fried chicken, red peppers and sweetcorn and it was delicious.

Great taste

Really tasty mix of grains and pulses. Very quick and easy to heat and enjoyed in a tortilla wrap with some sauteed veggies.

Morish

The combination of textures is stunning and the mixture of spices is something special. I'm guessing many will use this as a side but for me it's a perfect snack or lunch, guaranteed to fill me up and keep me going.

Lovey change from rice or pasta

I love all Mexican food so although Im not a huge consumer of grains and pulses I was attracted to these and I wasn’t disappointed. The pouch contains a very generous mix of long grain rice, quinoa and adzuki beans, cooked with smoked paprika and jalapeño peppers. They have a great texture and a definite Mexican taste. You can enjoy them as they are from the pouch as a cold salad item, or you can heat them up as an accompaniment to have with a curry, bolognese or any grilled meat. Absolutely delicious, will definitely buy these again.
