Boiled for ages and still hard

I can only assume that these were very old peas. I soaked overnight and then cooked in plenty of unsalted water. Well over an hour later, they were still crunchy!

Great for Dal

Used these to make a new dal recipe and it tasted delicious. Will buy again.

Very wholesome

Would have liked some cooking instructions. Soaked half a pack for 8 hours in cold water. I washed them in cold water, sieved and then cooked in spring water for half an hour gently simmering. A certain firmness was retained alongside the peas pudding style dish. I added fried streaky bacon and onions to the peas pudding base which also had generous salted butter and pepper.

Lovely split peas

These split peas cooked beautifully in soup and are very nice quality and colour. Fab!
