Natoora Sicilian Unwaxed Blood Oranges
- Unwaxed Blood Oranges direct from an independent grower and his mountain groves in Sicily.
- The first variety of the season to ripen is Moro, the most highly-coloured of his blood oranges.
- This is due to a high concentration of anthocyanin, the same antioxidant that tints purple grapes. Anthocyanin is the source of the fruit’s distinct berry flavour.
- After Moro, we will move on to the Sanguinello and then Tarocco variety from the same grower.
- Both varieties will darken in colour and intensify in flavour in the region’s unique mild days and cold nights.
- Grown without the use of chemical sprays or fertilisers.
Take it further
- Freshly squeezed juice.
- Segment, toss with thinly sliced fennel and macerated red onions.
Natoora's radical approach to seasonal sourcing is shaping the future of food
- We are revolutionising the food system.
- We work direct with growers who value flavour, biodiversity and heritage over yield.
- We give them the support they need to build a better future for food, rooted in small scale, sustainable agriculture that gives back to our planet.

Tasty but doesnt last
Sweet and tart all at once. Gorgeous taste. The first one anyway. The others had started to go off so were just ok. Next time Ill eat them sooner.
1 mouldy, 1 mushy before sell by date
And had to be chucked. And they were puny to boot.
Delicious but
These oranges are delicious but they dont keep. Description says short shelf and this has been my experience across numerous purchase. However, my lmost recent purchase arrived mouldy 2 days before use by date. 5 stars for taste 1 star for shelf life 1 star for shelf life
old fruit
Completely dry the flesh has shrunk away from the skin.
mixed bag
Possibly getting late in the season, as these were past their best. Small, 2 were rotten. 2 were very good, sweet and juicy and dark red, but at this price thats not really good enough.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
The dark, dark red of the flesh of these beautiful oranges tells you that they're going to taste just how you want them. That's assuming that, like me, you want the really strong, delicious flavour so different from the average orange.
