Works for us
My 2yr old daughter barely eats any meat, so this supplement makes me feel better! I think it tastes a bit grim, but she takes it fine (we mix it with a few ml of kids' Sambucol that she was taking already before, so I imagine that really helps!). I think it makes her breath smell bad immediately afterwards, but as soon as she has some water, and brushes her teeth (we give vitamins at breakfast), it's all fine. Recommend!
Awful flavour
I bought this because Ive been struggling to get my children to take other iron supplements due to the taste and this is described as flavourless. This couldnt be further from reality, the flavour is incredibly strong, just like the rest of the iron supplements on the market - I cant persuade my children to eat or drink anything that this has been added to so its a complete waste.
I just don't understand the bad review
there is a bad review about the taste, mentioning dog breath. this was clearly a bad batch for them because this was totally tasteless. easy to administer and my little boy is getting better. Will buy again
Perfect
It's very difficult to find iron supplements for young ones, even though it's the most common micro nutrient deficiency in the developed world and finding one without nonsense ingredients is nigh on impossible, so we're not moving away from this one anytime soon. We mix it with a small cup of orange juice (for the vitamin C that helps absorb iron) and have it before school. Never any complaints, never any problems. We tend to eat wholegrain only, so I guess we wouldn't get constipation with iron supplements anyway.
Inedible
I dont know how this is meant to be suitable for infants, the only child-friendly thing about it is the picture on the box.. It tastes like blood with a lingering aftertaste that I can only describe as rotting dog breath. Even following the recommendation to dilute with water or juice, the taste still lingers (I tried 4 drops in 50ml of 50/50 juice and water). Made me and my baby gag, so theres absolutely no way Id convince him to take a full 1ml (which is about 100 drops) a day. For context, were both very open minded about new tastes, continuing to try something until our tastebuds adapt so we did give it a couple of goes, but it really does make you retch so I dont think well continue to torture ourselves
