Tasting Notes
This is a medium bodied Shiraz, with a vibrant colour, which shows balance and elegance. The nose has bright dark fruit with contributing spicy perfumed aromas from the Cinsaut. The palate is fresh with fine grippy tannins
History
In 1984 Neil Ellis sourced grapes from vineyards not of his own and produced wine in rented cellar space. These grapes were sourced in the Stellenbosch district and meant a lot of nosing around the restrictive quota system prevalent at the time. His vision, the pursuit of quality, extended out of the cellar and into the vineyards where varieties would excel and best express a particular style of wine reflective of their environment.
Regional Information
Groenekloof is situated near Darling on the West Coast and consist of a series of hills running parallel to the ocean. This region is particularly well-suited for producing outstanding Sauvignon blanc.

Vinification Details
Handpicked, crushed and fermented on skins in open top fermenters allowing punch downs and gentle pump-overs to extract colour, flavour and tannin. Malolactic fermentation in French oak puncheons. Aged for 16 months in 5% new, and older French puncheons of 500 ¿ capacity. Special care is taken to maintain fruit integrity. 12% Cinsault was blended with the Shiraz

Very enjoyable

I'm reviewing this product having been given a free sample by Ocado. enjoyed this immensely. Dark and jammy and strong. Really surprised it didn't give me a headache.

full bodied and fruity

I'm reviewing this wine as ocado sent me a sample. I'm a white wine drinker so I shared this at the weekend when family visited. They all agree it was a full bodied wine with depth and hints of blackberry and cherry. The bottle was finished so I guess everyone enjoyed it . Thank you ocado

Strong wine

Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. It is very strong at 14%. It has a nice flavour and is comparable to French varieties. For me, it is a bit too strong but if you are looking for a full bodied wine, it is not a bad choice.

A very enjoyable bottle of wine

I was offered this to review. As someone who dances between a Pinot Noir and Malbec, I was surprised to find how much I enjoyed this for its smoothness and delicate notes. Its the kind of wine that would hit the spot perfectly with the right foods. I will be giving it another go, as I think the price point is right for its feeling of quality and production. Perhaps a small detail, but the Corke was excellent to work with and remove. (Had two decent bottles of wine corks break on me recently!)

Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. Agree with the previous reviewer that it tasted even better the next day. Really rich and warming, perfectly autumnal wine. I would buy this again.
