Everyday Savers
Product information
Our Red Tractor certified British pork joint is a quality cut, perfect for a succulent Sunday roast or a special occasion. The crackling is crispy and golden, and the meat is tender and juicy. Each joint provides 6-8 servings based on 125g of cooked meat per portion, so you can dish up a treat for your family and friends alongside roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and your favourite gravy.
Top Tip!
The rind is already scored to produce the perfect crackling, simply pat it dry with kitchen towel, cover with 2 tablespoons of salt, working into the cuts and leave at room temperature for 30 minutes. Rub all the salt off the joint and from between the cuts, then lightly cover the rind with 1 teaspoon of salt.

This used to be great but is now 50% rind & fat
Ive been buying this for as long as I can remember because, for the money, it offered great value for money it could be slow roasted on Sunday and there would be enough leftover to put into a curry on Monday (yes, it roast pork curry sounds odd but its actually fab!). Problem recently is that the joints are getting smaller (under 1Kg) and to make that do two meals is hard. However, the joints have got even worse in recent weeks as the ~1Kg joints are made up of a very thick layer of rind and fat that has been strung on top plus the meat underneath it has got a very high fat ratio too so, after slow cooking on a low heat for 3 hours, a lot of the fat gets rendered off so theres basically nothing left to show for the effort. Ive written a review today as the joint has very little pork meat and, upon opening, there was a very strong & unpleasant smell so I have just binned it as I dont want to waste time cooking a load of smelly fat!
Good for the price
This joint tasted nice but did take much longer to roast than the instructions indicate. I also struggled to get crisp crackling. I removed the crackling and fat and cooked on a tray once the meat was resting. I also kept the melted fat in a jar in the fridge to use for frying other things.
tasty
Bought this for a post Christmas dinner. Nice crackling and tasty meat Went down well with guests- none left at the end of the evening
Very fatty, more like shoulder
Not at all like pork loin. Fatty cuts of meat pieces rolled together and tied with string. It fell apart when I removed the string to carve the joint.
excellent
A lovely joint of meat. Very lean and a decent size.
Poor Quality
Absolutely awful fatty piece of pork .. Crackling was an inch thick, and it took longer to cook than usual due to the crackling. Back to the butchers for a piece of pork loin I go, and cost wise no more expensive.
