Bring back sell/use by dates

I dont know how long an Apple needs to hang about for it to go soft, spongey and wrinkly. Weeks? Months? All apples lately from Ocado have suffered this, but Granny Smiths are consistently poor.

I didn't know that apples can be so awful. These had no taste and were dry, I could have chewed on a cricket ball.
