Perfect for stews
The best lentils Ive found for a hearty lentil stew. Delicious!
ok but not a patch on M&S green lentils
M&S green lentils were not available. These are OK but not brilliant. They are fine for soup as they dont stay as intact as the M&S, the skins are relatively tough. They dont have such an intense flavour so need a boost.
Perfect
In this cold weather Ive been batch-cooking a veggie stew in a slow cooker which I then warm up for lunch each day. No soaking, throw these in at the start, and they add flavour and texture without falling apart and make the whole thing nice and filling.
would recommend it!
I like it! I start frying a chopped onion and garlic, then put 1/2 cup of the lentils, 3 cups of hot water, salt and black pepper. It would be cooked in 20min.. we love it not dry, but with the broth that is made with its own water. Combined with rice cooked separately, some protein & we have perfect healthy meal :)
like no other
very strange these, much flatter shape and lighter colour than the green lentils I've bought in the past from other supermarkets. Tasted ok, but due to their appearance I won't be buying again
