Preparation and Usage
- Provide food throughout the whole year especially during breeding, nesting and fledgling periods.
- Locate feeding stations near cover so that they're easily accessible, but not too close if there is a risk of predators.
- Always provide fresh, clean water.

Niger Seed Bird Feeder
Started one review and it FRUSTRATINGLY it disappeared!!. I bought one of these Niger Seed Feeders 28.2.22. As yet it seems no seed has been extracted. It is nigh impossible. One tiny perch on which only one bird can sit...tiny holes that stop even a niger seed poking through. I used to get flockes of long tailed tits ...all eating at the same time on my old feeder...no more they wont come near this one. They need to be in a flock and with only one perch they cannot cope with this feeder. I notice you have a similar sort for other seeds and nuts. HOW DO THE BIRDS GET THE FOOD OUT..ONE SILLY PERCH. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY . I AM CHUCKING IT OUT
Only buy if you have large charms visiting
Ive owned one of these for over a year and I can say that while it is an excellent quality feeder, you are unlikely to get full use unless you regularly have large charms of finches visiting with a preference for nyjer seed. I have up to 15 goldfinches visiting at a time and I offer them three nyjer feeders, including this large one and the small yellow goldfinch-finder feeder, plus a large Peckish sunflower hearts feeder. Of those four feeders, the sunflower hearts are their favourite and this particular feeder is their least favourite. I very rarely see more than one goldfinch feeding from it at a time, and usually only while theyre waiting for a spot on the sunflower hearts feeder. The result is that I have to stuff this feeder with empty herb jars to reduce its capacity and even then often end up throwing out lots of wasted uneaten seed. So I give this product 5 stars for quality, but I cannot recommend it unless you know youre going to get full use out of the huge capacity
