Works fine
I took note of the reviews that mentioned the plastic tabs snapping, so reinforced the bottom with garden twine. No squirrel mishaps yet and it's been a few months. The twist tab mechanism means it's very easy to clean, and it certainly seems popular enough with the small birds, although they took a few weeks to work out how to use it.
Birds will not use
It seems sturdily made and pleasant to look at. I have used it for sunflower hearts which i was feeding in my previous feeder but the sparrows, gold finches and, apparently all others are giving this the thumbs down and using the second peg perch feeder exclusively. It's only 5 days but this has never happened before.
A waste of money
Like other reviewers, I found this to be a total waste of money as it broke after a week when the bottom fell off and snapped the plastic
Hopeless!
I bought this feeder hoping the squirrels wouldnt be able to eat from it but of course they tried and the tray broke away (plastic attaching it to the plastic column containing the seed feed) and so fell off and irreparable in less than a week. If I could have got a refund, I would have asked! Very disappointing.
not so robust
All was fine until high winds. A few knocks against the post suspending it resulted in the bottom falling off. Disappointing.
