Lovely quality
These are absolutely delicious high-quality shallots, with a mild and slightly sweet taste to them, no acidic aftertaste as you can get with onions. They are perfectly evenly chopped and easy to add - the sunflower oil (referred to as 'toxic' by some other, more eccentric reviewers) helps ensure that the chopped pieces stay separated, meaning no clumps and easy portioning. I'm normally impressed with Picard's range and this is no exception - these are wonderful. And in a world where £3 doesn't even buy you a takeout coffee, I think good value too.
No alternative
Why are all of the better value goods disappearing? Why are we left with single option extortionately priced items? We are not stupid. We should not be rail roaded into buying more expensive items in this way. Especially at this time, when people are struggling financially.
Just too expensive
I love that these save me time but they are just way too expensive for what they are. I might start doing them myself if I get time but for now I'll keep buying them.
Why toxic sunflower and rapeseed oil added?!
It just needs to be frozen chopped shallots like M&S used to do but seemed to have stopped doing! Why add unnecessary toxic seed oils?!
Best frozen ingredient
I can't be without these, I use them in so many recipes. Seem pricey but they go so far and are so versatile, they're worth every penny.
High quality
These cost a lot but they are very high quality compared to the other brand
