So difficult to open the tin
The contents are fine & I made a good corned beef hash. But what I actually had to go through to get at the corned beef! The key was too small, but I managed to open halfway round the tin before it slipped off, Then used regular tin opener on the larger end, still couldn't get the cb out. Finally scooped it out with a spoon. Won't be buying again
Delicious!
Bought this initially because I was trying to tell the kids about the tin and explain how it worked (the key arrived very stuck to the top of the can, very present!) I haven't had corned beef in decades and didn't expect it to be so delicious. Really appreciate the lower salt content and the texture is better than I remembered. Not a steal for the price, but really lovely...and now I have to explain how corned beef is made...
Very tasty corned beef
Had some of this for lunch today with fresh mixed green salad and new potatoes and a couple of slices of M&S beetroot and it went down a treat. The trick of getting out of the tin is to put the tin in the fridge for awhile and then after opening the tin loosen down the sides of the tin with a knife and you will then be able to ease it out of the tin with the knife. Hope this helps those who have tried to get the corned beef out of the tin when it is warm!
REGULAR PURCHASE
Excellent in a sandwich or with salad. Also good with chips and pickle.
Love corned beef
We love corned beef. Corned beef hash, or hot on a bread roll and served as like pastrami, cold on a sandwich or with a salad. I especially like how it opens with a key as it's so much easier to open than with a tin opener, but if the key should break off it's easy to open with a tin opener - just open with tin opener at both ends and push the corned beef out,
refuse to buy this type of can
Its not WW2 anymore, there is no excuse for cans like these. I will not be buying this or competing products until the design of the can is brought up to date. Either the key breaks off or you cut yourself, or both. M & S sell corned beef in a modern tin but unfortunately it always out of stock, but it seems it can be done its just that Princes are lazy
