Cassia cinnamon, best for Asian food not dessert
this is good quality cassia cinnamon, this is a savoury bark for Asian cooking, not western sweets which requires Verum cinnamon. I am assuming the bad reviews are due to the fact that the reviewers were unaware of the difference. Great thick solid bark, with wonderful smell and flavour ( in curries, spice tea, and garam masala mixes ). definately not for apple crumbles or cinnamon buns.
beware
these are not cinnamon sticks and cannot be used for recipes that require cinnamon sticks
Not cinnamon sticks
I bought these thinking they were cinnamon sticks (fair assumption Id say) but theyre not, theyre more like wood chips. I wont be using them. Ocado shouldnt use cinnamon in the description as its a different product.
Broken into tiny pieces
Would not buy these again, wanted for mulled wine but was worried Id choke someone!
ok
I bought this to try in place of the other brand sold on this site. A similar taste profile at double the price and much smaller pieces that become hard to find in a dark curry.
