Reflets de France Coarse Guerande Salt 500g

It was between 854 and 859 that the monks from St. Saveur de Redon were donated several salines on the peninsula of Batz. These salines were mined by the salt workers and weren't going to change as a result. Sea water enters the salterns at high tide. It progresses slowly then gradually settles producing a concentration of salt which continues under the sun and wind until saturation point and until the sodium chloride forms crystals. The salt worker then collects the grey coarse salt by scraping with a type of wooden rake. The salt is then dripped dry firstly in the fresh air and then finely ground down in the salt granaries.

This salt adds something
I don't know what the difference is, whether it's minerals mixed in or something. It is yellowish in colour and in tiny chunks, with it's own flavour
best salt ever
Didn't know I was such a salt connoisseur until I tried this but now there's no going back. It's full of mineral goodness and you don't need much of it as it's strong. Unbleached too which is great. I've never experienced sand in mine and I've been using this brand for years
Wonderful salt
Love this salt. Ive been using it for decades and used to have to beg friends to bring it back from France if I wasnt visiting. Brilliant to have it delivered by Ocado. Ive visited the salt pans, really interesting. Yes its grey, but its natural and full of minerals. I use it in cooking. I store it in a salt pig next to my hob so its always on hand.
Lovely
Please Ocado, please please stock Reflets de France FINE Guérande salt again
FULL OF SAND ! GRITTY \- YUK !
Ocado - why oh why are you selling this particular product. It's full of gritty sand and absolutely disgusting. Reflets de France have an amazing salt called - FLEUR DE SEL DE GUERANDE IGP 149g - which is a must have in my kitchen, as it makes meats, fish, veg etc taste just the best ! (Like Le saunier ) Each time I go to France I lug this delicious salt back, as our sea salt is not as tasty!. You used to sell Fleur de Sol and now have this awful sand laden version. Please, please, please stock the Fleur de Seller instead thanks
Never thought Id care about salt so much...
But I love this stuff. The tastiest thing to put straight on your meal (I always feel its a waste to use this amazing salt in cooking). Its not hugely salty or bitter like table salt. And its much tastier than other sea salts we tried. Dont be put off by the colour it really changes the taste of food for the better!
