Tasting Notes
Beautiful aromas of toasted almond, baked apple, orange blossom and sandalwood emanate from the glass. One the palate, the wine is a gorgeous balance of bright, juicy summer citrus and creamy, rich marzipan, with teasing hints of jasmine and ginger.
History
Early spring rains in 2018 filled reservoirs and gave the vines ample water for the growing season. While bud break and flowering were a bit late, the season began under ideal weather conditions, creating excellent fruit set and expectations of a generous crop. Sunshine throughout the summer was tempered by the region's cool breezes and fog, which ensured slow, even ripening for the perfect balance between retained freshness and maximum flavour development.
Regional Information
With its cooling marine influences, the southern Carneros region is home to some of the Napa Valley's finest Chardonnays. The 2018 Reserve Chardonnay blend was sourced exclusively from the appellation's renowned Hyde Vineyard. The micro-climate of this vineyard, along with its clay loam soils, continue to create ideal conditions for the development of beautifully expressive Chardonnay year after year.

Vinification Details
We hand harvested our grapes at daybreak and gently pressed them as whole clusters to retain fruity flavours and delicacy. A slow, cool native yeast fermentation took place in 100% Burgundian-style barrels (66% new barrels) for fruit and oak integration, and enhanced mouthfeel. As the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, we began stirring the barrels twice a week, re-suspending the yeast lees to gradually build creaminess and texture. The wine aged in barrel for a total of eleven months.

Enjoyable
Bought this on offer for a Chardonnay fan to enjoy over the Christmas break. They thought it very good. I had a glass a day or so after and I was reasonably impressed at the quality on offer. A decent depth of flavour and quite rich on the palette. Worth the ~£40 in my view.

rip off!
This was a very average wine that I wasted a lot of money on as a Christmas Day treat. I learnt from my daughter who lives in the US - too late - that this is a very average brand I guess they export to gullible export market. Please Ocado taste test your wines before selling them!
