Was looking forward to these claimed flavours but struggled to get any cardamom and extremely little lemon.
Average
Its ok. A tame version of G&B Maya Gold, with less depth. I get ginger rather than cardamom. Wouldnt buy again.
Barely any cardamom
The flavour combination sounded great, as I love cardamom, but unfortunately I could hardly detect the cardamom. I could taste some lemon, but the predominant flavour was somehow peppery. I didn't enjoy this and would not buy again, even though the chocolate itself (as in under the flavouring) was ok
Get when you see it on sale
Very dark style chocolate, hard and crisp. Excellent flavour, the lemon and cardamom comes through perfectly, like the Prestat chocolates they had one year in little disks. Not exactly a snacking chocolate, as it doesn’t have the smoothness milk chocolate normally has, but more a savouring chocolate. Expensive, and not everyone’s cup of tea, but definitely a good bar.
Disappointing
I chose this bar because of the interesting flavour combination and good reviews. I was looking forward to a new taste experience, but could not detect even a hint of lemon and the cardamom was barely discernible. The chocolate was hard and brittle, it arrived broken into pieces. Even though it had 8 months left on the best before date, it was coated in a white bloom. An expensive, but disappointing chocolate. I gave two stars for the organic Fairtrade credentials.
Unique dark chocolate
The cardamom and lemon go really well together and it something different from other chocolates. The flavours do not overwhelm. Reasonably priced for the quality of dark chocolate
