Recipes
Makes: about 30 cookies, Cooking Time: 8 mins at 170°C/338°F/Gas 3.
Preparation Time: 20 mins.
Ingredients
70g spelt porridge flakes
40g chopped nuts of your choice
40g chopped dried fruit of your choice
1 tbsp linseed
10g coconut, flakes or desiccated
Pinch of cinnamon
115g Bakers Blend spelt flour
115g dark chocolate chunks
115g light soft brown sugar
115g salted butter
3 tbsp runny clear honey
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method:
Preheat the oven and line two baking sheets with baking paper.
Place all the ingredients into a large bowl apart from the butter, honey, bicarbonate soda and vanilla.
Melt the butter and honey together in a heavy-based saucepan over a low heat.
Add the bicarbonate of soda and vanilla and mix together. This mixture will then foam up. Cool slightly before adding to the dry ingredients.
Mix all the ingredients, until they come together into a soft dough.
Shape into 30 balls, using lightly floured hands and put on the prepared baking sheets, using a fork to flatten them down into little discs. Bake for 8 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown and puffed up.
Leave to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
NB Once the dough is made it must be cooked. These cookies will keep well in an air tight container.

Brand
We grow and produce a range of spelt products which include, flour, cereals, grain and pasta.
Champion of British Spelt
In 2004 Mulberry founder Roger Saul moved from the world of fashion to food and launched the Sharpham Park brand from his organic farm nestling on the Somerset Levels.
Roger's passion for this ancient grain inspired his book Spelt which is a definitive collection of delicious, wholesome recipes with spelt at the heart.
Our Farm on the Somerset Levels
We believe in only using ingredients that are locally farmed and free from pesticides and artificial fertilisers. We're proud that our spelt is organically grown and milled in Somerset to make sure you have the best tasting and healthiest spelt in the UK.
We're Looking After the Wildlife
Our farm is sustainable managed - the spelt fields have 2 metre margins and the hedgerows are cut every other year meaning wildlife such as wild deer, hare, bees and dormice are allowed to shelter and forage for food all year round.
Our Journey Began with Spelt
Spelt, an ancient grain, has been grown in Somerset since the start of the Iron Age and has gained in popularity in recent times because it's an excellent source of dietary fibre and protein.

Nice
Nice but not favourite bit like whole meal.
Good Product but numerous split bags
Great flour, works well in sourdoughs, yeast breads, soda breads and much more, But over and over Ocado deliver these split, and it has to be trashed. Why oh why do the Packers, pack tins on top of delicate bags of flour Or on top of bananas??? I have complained many times to no avail- the sheer environmental wastage on top of everything else! Come on ocado, train your packers better!
Makes a lovely loaf
I use my bread maker to make a spelt loaf, putting in chia seeds and golden linseeds and so far the loaves have turned out really well. I find that the bakers blend is the easiest to use, having tried other spells. A really good product.
Great blend not so great delivery
This is a great spelt blend, I've been using it for some time as it always makes a good loaf. I hope Ocado starts selling the one with seeds/nuts as that's another good one too. However I am so not happy about Ocado delivering flour. I have had a long standing problem with them, years, asking them not to pack flour together with cartons of milk or any other objects. There has not been any improvement so far and the paper package of the flour is nearly always damaged upon delivery. Shame as Ocado has a wide range of good quality organic flours.
Makes a lovely loaf
I do bake bread quite often, and have used other spelt flours before but I really did like this one, it baked a really lovely loaf; it's one I'll be buying again.
Good choice for bread making
I tried two different bread recipes with this flour, and both turned out lovely. A good alternative to wheat flour.
