Boring
Watery sauce that doesnt have much flavour. It was okay, but 3/5 stars is about right.
Watery
Just that. Watery. I should have bought the full fat version, this is terrible. Spices are OK, it's just watery and trying to overcook it in an attempt to dry some of the water up doesn't help. Don't bother, go for the full fat version and give this one a wide berth. Eat less chocolate or something if you need to to make up for it, just don't bother with this. I don't recommend it.
Awful \x26 Very Bland (no spice)
I forgot butter chicken was the blandest of curries; although from a restaurant it still has some spice/chilli. I used it on some chicken thighs and baked, but the chicken tasted completely plain. Made me feel sick. I will stick to Pataks curry paste and real ingredients from now on. You can't use a sauce without adding real onions, tomatoes, coriander, cardomom, garlic, ginger, chilli to your cooking.
Gloopy mess
No idea how others gave this 4 and 5 stars. Its terrible at all levels - taste, texture, colour. It ruins anything its put on.
The school dinners version of butter chicken
Brought this based off the reviews but I should have trusted my gut. This tastes nothing of a butter chicken curry, and youre not able to get mucin depth from a bottle of sauce so I should have expected that. To understand what Im talking about, go try the Mighty Spice version (about £3 sometimes £2 on offer). Night and day difference
Quick \x26 easy
This is a great cupboard standby. I do add a few things to give the dish more depth but this sauce alone is lovely. I fry onions, garlic and ginger add a little curry paste and tinned tomatoes before adding this sauce, makes a lovely quick curry. Also nice just heated and served with griddled chicken, rice & chips.
