History
Botter was founded by Carlo Botter in 1928. Firstly a reseller of bulk wines, the family developed the trade in bottled wines, expanding beyond national borders. In the '80s, thanks to close collaborations with local producers, the company increased the offer by adding new products from Abruzzo, Campania, Puglia and Sicily. With the third generation of the family, a new more modern and global business model was adopted, making Botter one of the largest producers and exporters of Italian wines today.

The region has a temperate climate, mitigated by the sea. The chain of the Alps protects the region from the northern winds. Winters are cold and humid; summers are hot and muggy with medium temperature variations. Altitude 20m.

Vinification Details
The vineyard, located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, has rocky soil and the vines are 20 years old. The grapes were harvested in September 2021, and were crushed and soft-pressed before 15-20 days of fermentation at controlled temperature (15-17°C) in stainless steel tanks.

Can see why it is 50% off!

A poor example of Sauvignon Blanc. Disappointing taste and lack of any depth. Wouldnt recommend if you have any sort of palate to appreciate good wine. Even at £5 it is over-priced!

Huge disappointment

The Smart Pass Sale price was so good that I decided to buy not just to try one bottle but to buy several. Disappointingly, rather than agreeing with the two positive reviews, I totally agree with the first reviewer who thought that it was undrinkable.

New favourite sb!

I took a risk on this. One good and bad review, but it was discounted and the description made it sound like my kind of thing. Well, reader, it was gorgeous! Not like a typical sauv blanc, but the blurb does it justice and it is indeed very dry. Off to buy a load more before the discount ends.

a nice surprise

I bought this wine as it was on offer and felt like trying something new. It was very drinkable and went down far to quickly! I like a dry wine and this was indeed dry and I was very impressed with my first try of an Italian Sauvignon.

Like drinking lighter fuel…

I very much wanted to love this, but it was absolutely horrible. Sadly had to pour the whole bottle down the sink after a few sips. Definitely no ‘aromas of spring blossom and citrus, with flavours of green apples, lime and pink grapefruit’ anywhere to be seen. Very much like drinking lighter fuel - neat.
