Star bright, pale yellow. Intensely aromatic, with white and tropical fruits dominating, along with some coffee notes from barrel ageing. There are also some more subtle aromas of dried fruits, nuts and aromatic plants

In about the second half of July there were some bouts of intense rain, which are not the norm at that time of year, and they created the need for some rapid and decisive work and treatments in the vineyards to protect both yields and the health of the grapes. Ripening was slow, and the harvest a long one. Good weather during September and October was very helpful in the picking process and helped avoid problems with diseased grapes in the presses.

Rioja was the first Spanish wine region to obtain DO status in 1925. In 1991, it was promoted to DOCa (Qualified Designation of Origin), a higher category reserved for wines maintaining a proven consistency and quality over a long period of time.
This grape gives the wines their elegance, concentration of aromas and complexity of flavours. It is this, as well as oak ageing, which gives the wines such personality and individuality.

2018

Harvested early morning by hand, the grapes were pressed immediately and vinified separately at 15-18°C for approximately 14 days. The blend was then put together by Vanesa Insausti and the wine aged for 6 months in a mix of new French and American oak barrels. The final wine was racked and blended for stabilising in July 2019 before being bottled and stored for a further 6 months in our cellars. The resultant wine is fresh, with intensely fruity aromas, and soft on the palate.
