Jamaican Jerk Chicken

- Jamaican Jerk Spice Rub
You Will Need
- 600g Chicken Pieces
- 2 Cups Cooked Rice
Also great with beef, pork or seafood
Cooking Instructions
1 Coat: Mix Jamaican Jerk Spice Rub through chicken and set aside.
2 Sear: Lightly stir-fry Ginger & Garlic Paste in a hot and well-oiled saucepan for 1 minute. Add chicken and stir-fry for a further 3 minutes or until sealed on all sides.
3 Simmer: Add Jamaican Jerk Sauce to pan and stir. Reduce heat to low, cover pan with lid and simmer until meat is fully cooked (approx. 20 minutes). Serve immediately with rice and your choice of salad.
Chef's Tip
To create Jamaican Jerk BBQ, mix all ingredients together and rub onto a whole chicken (or chicken pieces). Marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight) in fridge. Grill or barbeque until well cooked.

jerk chicken doesnt have a cooking sauce?
Very unauthentic. If you want to try authentic, try the Dunnes river marinade (also available on here) and make a seperate jerk gravy. I normally do Sweet chilli sauce, ketchup, water and bbq sauce (jerk or normal M&S bbq) add a teaspoon of chicken gravy granules to thicken.

unbelievably salty
Nice taste but the salt content is unreal. I felt like I'd had a night out the next morning I was so dehydrated.

Nice!
Much better than anticipated, wouldve preferred a little more heat though, but I guess that is personal preference. Very simple to make, will buy again.

Really Tasty!
Bought this having tried the curry mixes from Street Kitchen before. I enjoyed how simple this recipe was and the flavours were wonderful. Its got a fair bit of heat but my husband hates spice and still ate it. Served it with Tilda Rice & Peas which worked really well.
