Somewhat confusing sweet \x26 spicy sauce
I'm reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. Naming it a sauce is probably quite misleading, and after a little taste was a little unsure what to use it with. It's quite sweet with hints of Indian spices, maybe a kinf of Indian tomato relish. Somewhat enjoyed it on top of some burgers as suggested and as something different but don't think it's something I would buy or really recommend, unfortunately. I definitely wouldn't use on pasta!
Good for burgers and sausage sarnies
I'm reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. It's quite a sweet sauce with a bit of spice, think more like a relish in flavour and not dissimilar from mango chutney. Very nice if you go in not expecting it to be more like a typical tomato sauce.
Tangy
I was sent this to review from Ocado. I was also a little misled by the title. Perhaps ‘relish’, ‘ketchup’ or ‘marinade’ would be less misleading. After saying that I loved it. Tangy, punchy. Gorgeous.
Not for me
I’m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. We didn't enjoy the sauce. It was far too sweet and tasted a little synthetic.
Balance too sweet and vinegary for our liking
Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I was disappointed withthis product from Bay Tree because the ingredients looked really good. This is NOT a pasta sauce at all!!!! It is a relish or marinade, may work for cooking chickpeas, but as a sub for ketchup or relish, for us, no. It is very sweet and vinegary, the two dominant flavours, with a touch of indian spices, I was thinking chilli hot type spice, but there is none of that here. I have left it in the fridge as I may use it as a marinade for pork belly or pork ribs, it may work marinading and then baking to reduce the sharpness of vinegar and caramelize some of the sugar. If it works, will post again. As a condiment sauce didn't like it at all.
Very sweet ...
Was sent this to review free from Ocado. While far too sweet for me, I am sure if you like sweet you will enjoy them.
