HOW WE BAKE
Unlike many other supermarket sourdoughs, we never bake with additives or commercial yeast.
We choose diverse heritage grains, maintain our starters with care and follow an expertly baker-led fermentation process, to unlock the full potential of every loaf. Baked fresh every day.
HOW IT TASTES
Loaded with nutritious seeds, including chia, millet, sunflower & brown linseed, this loaf packs a flavoursome, nutty punch. A tacky, chewy crumb, generously filled and hand rolled in seeds.
Shaped and sliced for the everyday. Ideal for sandwiches, toast, toasties and more.

As we only use a handful of natural ingredients, our bread is best enjoyed fresh for the first few days, and then as toast for a few more. If freezing, freeze immediately after purchase. For best before, see bag tie.
Brand
We set out to bring better bread to every table. By reshaping and slicing our sourdough loaves, we're making them easier to enjoy every day.
We bake our sourdough with heritage grains like emmer, barley & spelt - each chosen for their depth of flavour and nutrition. Never with any artificial preservatives or added sugars.
For us it's not only about fermentation time and starter age. Crafting the best sourdough requires a caring human working with nature, instinct and decades of training.
The bread tells us when it's ready but only a chosen few bakers listen and understand.
This is bread, made better.

Lovely substantial bread
Decided to give this a try as it was on offer. What a pleasant surprise! Lovely toasted & topped with cottage cheese or avocado. Dense, substantial & chewy but not tough & doesnt have the massive holes that traditional sourdough has. I think I prefer this!
Best toasted
This bread is absolutely delicious as toast. Cant say Id use it in a sandwich but its nutritious, packed full of seeds, no preservatives very good addition to my weekly shop.
Thumbs up
This was very tasty and toasted well. This is a good bread that I have had before and I would consider buying again.
A new favourite
Ive been doing the Zoe app and discovered this bread is better for me! I freeze and toast and really enjoy .. with peanut butter and banana, smashed avocado, pomegranate and feta or scrambled eggs, rocket and tomatoes . a new regular in my basket!
proper sourdough!
No Nasties! Great in the freezer.
One of the best...
Given that this is mass produced, I have to give Bertinet a lot of credit for creating a genuine sourdough with no additives. It might not taste as good as an artisan baked loaf from round the corner, but it's convenient delivered, lasts well and tastes very good. Admittedly I always toast it, but then it makes good toast too. And I know it's better for me than most supermarket bread with dozens of additives. Well done Bertinet.
