So much smaller now
The taste was ok but the size of each chocolate has shrunk a lot. Would not buy again.
A shadow of their former self
Sadly, these tastes like the sort of cheap rubbish your family used to bring back from a holiday. These used to be such a treat but now its like bargain basement chocolates.

Im so upset. These bear no resemblance to the Thorntons Continental chocolates I remember fondly. Sickly, artificial tasting and cheap (sadly not in the monetary sense). Sad times

I wonder if Thorntons have recently revamped this Continental box: I dont agree with many of the older reviews? However, I hadnt bought anything Thorntons myself for years because I previously also felt theyd gone down hill (and Id discovered the hotel brand). But this box was given to me as a gift and I opened it because I was on a diet and I caved. There are some standard truffle types with milk chocolate which are quite sweet, a bit bland and not my thing, and so I shared these with my young son who doesnt care so much. BUT there were some LOVELY quite unique flavours that I really wish they sold alone in their little bags of chocolates because I am now obsessed. The amaretti crunch with white chocolate was divine! A dark chocolate with orange filling, a dark chocolate with coffee filling and the historic lemon mousse one with white chocolate made this box worth purchasing myself!
