Make with care
The house blend is a punchy medium dark roast which reminds me of morning cappucinos in Florence, rich and aromatic, but it needs a genberous quantity, ground fine in something like a Fellows grinder and then filtered. I've not tried it with an espresso machine. If you like a smoother, lighter roast the Tokyo roast is a good addition.
horrible
Doesnt taste like any coffee. Will never buy again
ok - Tokyo blend better
Little too citrusy for me and like the other blend, do not stay fresh very long. Quite dry so difficult to extract in the BTC.
Bitter
Was sent this to review. Have also reviewed the ground coffee which was OK, so was looking forward to trying the beans as fresh ground is our preference for our Sunday morning coffee. Very disappointed, the coffee tasted bitter and lacked flavour. Will stick to our usual Colombian/Honduras blend.
Nothing special about these coffee beans.
These are bog standard coffee beans, Hardly any flavour, hardly any crema... Pretty average in my opinion. Japanese people would probably laugh...
Not Japanese
I’m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. The coffee is nice enough, but I couldn’t find any distinctive elements that would justify buying it again or justify it against a cheaper pack of Lavaza beans. The packaging and branding would like to make you think this is a Japanese product, but it is just a marketing ploy. Maybe I had too big expectations.
