Exactly what I needed
I've been taking these for a couple of years now, mainly to boost a low B12 level. I take them first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and don't have any issues with an after taste. The "improved" recipe hasn't made any difference to me either. I will say, though, that I do generally buy these when they are on offer.
if you are sensitive not for you
I have tried a lot of multivitamins and discovered that some have more of a strong fishy smell, than others. I have no issue with that, but often those multivitamins can effect your stomach if you are not full of food. If you prefer to have a bit of a lighter breakfast (yoghurt, berries, granola) these might not be for you. Despite having a breakfast they made me throw up a few times. If you have a tough system probably not a concern, but for anyone with a sensitive stomach try Alive or Ritual. Cant speak to how well they work, I gave the rest of my bottle to a friend.
Would not recommend
I have benefited from the vitl vitamin D caps in the past and thought I would try these. Firstly it came with the bottle poorly sealed, looking at other reviews elsewhere this appears to be a common issue, but I thought as the box was fully sealed I would risk it. I used about half a bottle and noticed a gradual worsening of fatigue and poor energy levels, I initially dismissed this as coincidence but when I was barely able to keep my eyes open by the evening and I was dropping things. When I thought back to when this started, I realised this had caused it. I can only conclude it was the ashwagandha, and I wonder why it is included in a multivitamin and mineral supplement as looking into it, it can have negative side effects for some susceptible individuals. The dose of Ashwagandha in this is only one tenth of the daily recommended therapeutic dose, so it seems to have been included as a gimmick rather than anything else.
