64.3p per 100gProduct information
Navarrico chickpeas are produced in Navarra, the garden of Northern Spain.
Conservas Artesanas El Navarrico was established by Hercules Amalia and Jose Salcedo in 1960. Their children and grandchildren now run the business. They process their fruit and vegetables amongst the fertile fields of the Ebro valley, where Navarra meets La Rioja.
These are premium chickpeas have a rich, nutty flavour and thin, tender skins. They are prepared with only water and a little salt - cooked in the same manner as the Spanish do at home. Healthy as well as delicious, they are a rich in protein and particularly high in dietary fibre.
Nutty and creamy, these chickpeas are a great store cupboard standby for mixed bean salads and vegetable stews.

These have changed
These used to be fantastic: better, nicer bigger chickpeas that were great in recipes where they were the main ingredient. Now they are covered in a very thick slime, which means they get stuck in the jar - meaning you have to force them out, crushing them in the process. Disappointed.
Used to be great
Before the rebranded packaging these were an easy 5 star, best chickpeas available. Since they redesigned the outer label; the chickpeas themselves have also changed. They are now smaller, weaker flavour and have way more aquafaba (slime) in the jar. The jars I've had an inch of aquafaba at the top and one jar even had some black mould on the underneath of the lid. Bold bean co now seem to have the same chickpeas and they are cheaper so will be buying them instead.
Ruined before they came out of the jar
I bought these based on the amazing reviews I read. However I was disappointed because the chickpeas were covered in so much jelly like substance that I had to use a spoon to prize them out. This caused for most of the peas to turn into mush. I definitely wont be ordering these again. Ill stick to my usual tin from now on.
Perfect for Hummus
You wont find better chickpeas. The ratings say it all. Makes excellent hummus which I put down to the quality of the product, or it might be my skill. Highly recommend.
delicious, tender, versatile
These really are the best and I share the sentiment of the earlier reviewer that these are unmatched. So tender and can be used in so many ways. A regular staple in my trolley.
soggy
These were recommended in a magazine as the best but i much prefer a cheaper tin with more texture.
