This pretty jar of make-ahead porridge will be ready and waiting for you in the morning. As well as being convenient, it's also a powerhouse of protein and goodness, thanks to oats, chia seeds, colourful berries and a big spoon of nut butter. So much better than toast!

Ingredients

  • 150ml greek yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp oats
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 4 tbsp frozen berries (or frozen tropical fruit or other fruit of your choice)
  • 1 tbsp nut butter
  • 1 tsp honey

Recipe tips / Prepare ahead

Prepare the mixture overnight to allow time for soaking. The mixture will keep in the fridge for three days, so you can always make a few at once.

Method

Step 1

Mix the Greek yogurt with the chia seeds, oats and milk in a jar. Stir in 2tbsp fruit.

Step 2

Top with 1tbsp peanut or almond butter, 1tsp honey and another 2tbsp fruit.

Step 3

Screw the lid on and leave in the fridge overnight – the oats will soften as they soak up the liquid and the fruit will thaw and ooze into the oats.
