Best of the Waitrose curries
The spice blend / flavour profile is pretty good - tho there could be a bit more of the spice blend and less tomato. It's reasonably hot out of the box, but I usually add some aromatic chilli flakes like Naga or Chipotle before cooking to give a bit more flavour and heat. The result is a pretty satisfing supermarket curry experience.
Full of flavour and a very good balance of spice. Nice chilli heat too... makes a change from the usual supermarket meals that have so many chillis on the packet, but fail to deliver. One of my favourites.
A decent shop bought curry!
I wasnt expecting much from this Jalfrezi but I was pleasantly surprised! Very tasty curry - it had a good heat to it!
Not for me
I'm happy with a hot curry but I'm not a fan of the flavour - having said that perhaps this is the taste of a jalfrazie, our local curry house dosent sell them so I don't know!
Seasoned curry lover but this was far too hot
Jalfrezi isnt my favourite curry but once in a while Ill eat it if someone else has already prepared one and Im willing to see if time has changed my opinion of it. It hasnt! We all agreed that this was too fiery and that continuing to eat it was almost painful! Despite adding yoghurt to it. Completing it felt more like accomplishing a gruesome goal than eating for flavour and satisfaction.
just hot at the expense of taste
Had this as a substitution, again. Im no stranger to hot curries but this was just uncomfortably hot and all other taste was lost. The chicken pieces were moist and tender, so only a partial disaster.
